---- The data in the directory NEWSTAT contain improved statistics

Title: Fully Developed Turbulent Channel Flow Simulations
        (Mansour, Moser & Kim)
File: PCH10/README

The files in this directory are from the Mansour, Moser & Kim channel
simulations. There are profiles of mean velocity, velocity variance
and dissipation (reXXXrij.pro, where XXX is the Reynolds number based
on u_tau), and profiles of the tripple correlations (reXXXtri.pro).
There are one-dimensional velocity spectra (re590spx.# and re590spz.#,
for x-direction and z-direction respectively, where # is an index
indicating distance from the wall, with lower numbers closer to the
wall). In addition, there is a binary file (re590.bin), which
contains the small separation two-point correlation data needed to
compute filtered quantities.

Note that if the one-dimensional spectra are summed to get velocity
variance, the values will differe slightly from those in the profile
file (re590rij.pro) because the statistical sample with which they
were computed is different. In particular, the spectra we computed
using every 5th field used to compute the profiles and filter data. In
addition, the spectra have been averaged over the two sides of the
channel, the profiles have not.
